My Why. A Personal Message....
In 1982, my family moved to Brampton. It was a different time. For hours, I would ride my bike along the Etobicoke Creek, and it was true— you only had to come home before the streetlight in front of the house came on. Our city felt so safe.
Like many of you, this city has been more than just a place to live—it's where we grew up. And therefore, it's a vital part of who we are. Today, this city is where I’m raising my children, where I work, and where I plan to retire.
It's no secret that our city is going through some growing pains. But Brampton is an incredible city, and I know the true character and potential of this city and its people. We see the awesomeness every day in our neighbors, when we drop our kids off at school, and in our community organizations. Quite frankly, I'm tired of people making fun of my home.

Together, with my family, we wanted to do what we could to help. Personally, this is an opportunity to give back to the city that is such a big part of me. While We Are Heart Lake is funded mainly by my small business, The Darren Difference Real Estate, it is a grassroots initiative and can only thrive with our community members supporting our events and program through participation.
